Channels are essentially the different data sources that can be connected to your SocialWeaver account. Social networking sites are channels, and so are RSS feeds. In fact, anything that you can connect to SocialWeaver is a potential channel.
When you first sign up for SocialWeaver, you’ll need to connect some channels before you can create a streams dashboard, compose new content, or much else.
There are two different types of channel inside SocialWeaver.
Private Channels
These are the channels that you own yourself and have administrator access to. When you connect these accounts to SocialWeaver, you’ll be prompted to give SocialWeaver access to the channel so it can read your data.
Public Channels
These are publicly available channels that you and your brand don’t have access to. As long as the channels are public, you can add them to your SocialWeaver account.
